East Lincoln On Stage
For your tax-deductible donation of just $100 per seat, you can become a seat sponsor and commemorate your gift with an engraved plaque containing your choice of inscription featured for the life of the chair. Patrons visiting the theatre will see your inscription and appreciate your support for the East Lincoln Black Box Theater. As an added bonus for 2020-2021, seat sponsors will be given early access, for each show, to purchase the seats they sponsored, or select other preferred seating.
About Our Seating Drive
The East Lincoln High School Chorus & Theatre Programs produce a large variety of programming each school year. Choral concerts, cabaret events, class productions, and MainStage productions (with the exception of the spring musical) are performed in the East Lincoln Black Box Theater. This year, we will be adding improv events like "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and "ComedySportz" to the already exciting calendar. We also host a summer camp for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, allowing them to put on a production at the end of the camp. We are excited about the growth of our program and want to continue to raise the bar moving forward.
So, how did we get here and what do we need?
In the fall of 2019, the East Lincoln High School Theatre received a grant from the Timken Foundation to begin the renovation of a classroom space into a black box performance space. This grant of $115,000, combined with smaller donations allowed us to install a pipe grid to house an up-to-date theatrical lighting system, update the sound system, blackout the windows, and acquire new seating platforms for our audience. Adding padded seating is the final piece of this initial renovation phase.
We are looking for 100 sponsors to purchase one seat, helping put the finishing touches on the space. Please help us get the word out! In reality, 100 sponsors is not a massive goal, but it is a goal that will greatly benefit our students and audiences for years to come!
