Parent update: parent meeting review

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you are doing well.  Many were unable to make it to last week's parent meeting, so I wanted to put together an email review to make that information available for everyone.  There is quite a bit of information here, so please take a few minutes to check it all out.  

• If you would like to receive text notifications when new parent information is available, please text EL-HSM to 81010.
  
  
• 5th Period Theatre Production - With only a few exceptions, all of the students participating in High School Musical are registered in Theatre Production, which is a graded class that earns a credit on their transcript.  I share that as a reminder that attendance and preparation are graded.  Most of the students do not have a problem with this, but we do occasionally have an issue.  The most important things that parents and students need to know is that regular rehearsals are graded as formative assignments.  Required rehearsals and performances (tech week, Q2Q, etc.) are summative grades carrying significant weight.  Please review the attached calendar for required rehearsals and performance dates.  These have not changed since August 1.
  
  
• In December, we did an East Lincoln On Stage merchandise order.  There were a few errors on my part mixed with MANY folks distraught that they didn't get to order.  So, we will be placing another order THIS COMING FRIDAY, January 20.  You can view and download the merchandise order information on the homepage of EastLincolnOnStage.org, but I am also attaching it to this email.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Note: the green jackets are not black due to stock issues.
  
  
• We are in the middle of our yearly Sponsor/Advertiser/Donor Drive.  Because our program is completely self-funded, this drive is crucial to continuing the productions and performances we do each year.  Sponsors and Advertisers make their contribution at the beginning of the year and receive advertisement and perks for all four shows in 2023.  Donors typically make a one-time financial contribution or make a tangible donation to our spring raffle, which runs concurrently with High School Musical.  We have the biggest success with businesses connected in some way to our students' families or to our productions.  Please consider how you might best assist us in this drive.  Whether you know someone who might be willing to sponsor or purchase an ad, or someone who is willing to donate something to our spring raffle, you can really help us make this year's drive a success.  The forms are also attached to this email, but can also be found at EastLincolnOnStage.org/sponsor.  Please let me know what businesses/organizations you have contacted so I don't re-visit.  

• In addition to business advertisements, parents may also purchase program ads for their actors.  These are half the price of a business ad and will run in one or both of our spring shows.  A full page is $75, half page is $50, and a business card is $25.  If you are interested please contact me directly and we will work together to get your ad in the program.  Please note that all ads are due no later than March 10, and yes, I will be glad to help you build your ad if you need assistance!
  
  
• Tickets for High School Musical will go on sale February 1 at 8 am.  Please help us spread the word.  Bottoms in seats is the most important thing we can do to keep our program moving forward!
  
  
• Many of you handled a meal for us (or more!) and it was WONDERFUL!  It is time to start looking forward to meals for High School Musical.  I know that providing a single meal is a significant task and you are welcome to team up and 2 or 3 parents do one together.  You will find multiple slots on each meal to allow for that.  Of course, you are certainly welcome to do them as singles if that is easier.  We have 41 in the cast and crew for this show.  Please note that we do have tree nut and mint allergies.  CLICK HERE to sign up.
  
  
• Another area where we ask for support is in concession donations.  During performances, we sell a variety of chips, candy, and drinks.  We also supply water for the students during tech week and performances.  There is a separate sign-up for concessions and access that HERE.
